CUREO is a therapy software for rehabilitation with more than 50 trainings in 7 modules. It utilizes Virtual Reality and gamification to increase patient motivation and therapy adherence and it’s already implemented in far more than 150 clinical and ambulantory institutions (used for physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and neuropsychology) for patients with sensorimotor, cognitive, and perceptual impairments. CUREO brings virtual reality to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and neuropsychology. Gamification enhances patient motivation, while cutting-edge technology supports therapeutic processes efficiently, effectively, and with versatility – ideal for clinics, rehabilitation centers, and therapy professionals.
Virtual reality (VR) is a familiar term, especially in the entertainment industry, and is widely being used for games. Where previously the game environment was only displayed on a monitor, users are now immersed in and surrounded by virtual worlds via VR glasses. The Benedictus Hospital Feldafing is an academic teaching hospital of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and is one of the most modern clinics in Germany for further treatment in acute and rehabilitation medicine in the fields of neurology, geriatrics and orthopaedics. The Pain Center has also been one of Europe's largest specialist facilities for the multimodal treatment of chronic pain for decades and treats all types of pain both on an inpatient and day-care basis.
One of the main reasons for Prof. Dr. Dirk Sander to implement CUREO® was, that it can be used across the entire spectrum of patients: From the severely affected in early rehabilitation to continuing rehabilitation.
